We haven’t posted for a little while on our HOD Blog. This is mainly because we have been working on our latest and greatest addition to HOD’s services. Our love of graphic design here in Plymouth, has inspired us to take it to the next level and “Head For Heights” unexplored. Head Of Design has decided to adapt with the times, and include “moving media” as a service for clients.
TELL ME MORE?
Through the use of state of the art Drone photography and 4K videography/film, Head of Design can now offer a full service to cover Weddings/Commercial/Events/Surveys plus another service which will be covered in a separate blog post soon! (Watch this space!)
Capturing staggering detail of anything in 4k creates a truly immersive experience. Check out this video below recently done for Burrington Estates. What better way to ‘show off’ such a fantastic feat of architecture and engineering?
There have been many issues recently with the safe use of drones, and we took all of this into consideration when researching and deciding on the best route to take. Over the past two years, we have held back as the hardware and software to go alongside was not developed enough to the extent we wanted (without spending tens of thousands of pounds). Head Of Design Ltd is officially fully insured and licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority to fly drones for commercial purposes.
CAN ANYONE FLY A DRONE?
Anyone can buy a basic drone and fly it in their back garden, but in order to do so commercially, you must be registered with the Civil Aviation Authority with an SUAV Pilot license and insurance to cover both yourself and the client.
CAN THE CAMERA BE CONTROLLED FROM THE GROUND?
Yes, all our software and hardware can be fully controlled by the pilot on the ground. We can pan and tilt the camera to focus/follow objects/people as they move whilst also moving the drone.
CAN YOU SEE WHAT’S HAPPENING?
We have a live 720p HD video feed directly from the camera to our controller unit which allows us to position the drone for shots safely with pinpoint accuracy. (We can also do live broadcasts to the internet from the unit for live events)
CAN YOU FLY IN WIND/RAIN?
We can fly in wind, but only up to a speed deemed safe by the drone operator. We don’t fly in rain as it’s not safe as there are lots of electrics involved.
